A West Lake Hills man was arrested for possession of marijuana and outstanding warrants on Bee Cave Road Sunday afternoon.
Clayton James Langerhans, 27, was arrested by the West Lake Hills Police Department after making an illegal U-turn in the 3900 block of Bee Cave Road.
Police Chief Cliff Spratlan said Officer Nathan Womack stopped Langerhans and took him into custody after discovering he had three outstanding warrants.
When Womack searched Langerhans, he discovered a pipe resembling a cigarette with a green, leafy substance on it.
Womack searched Langerhans’ car and found a red and black backpack containing a scale with a green, leafy residue.
Womack also found a glass container and small plastic bag containing the same green, leafy substance.
A narcotics test confirmed the substance was marijuana.
Womack found about 1.1 ounces of marijuana with Langerhans.
Possession of less than two ounces is a misdemeanor, Spratlan said.
Spratlan said arrests for possession are not common in West Lake Hills, but they do happen.
Langehans’ warrants were for an expired motor vehicle registration, violating a promise to appear in court and failing to report a change of address.
