Westlake’s Samantha Tucker won the junior national championship in the 100-yard freestyle at last weekend’s USA Swimming Speedo Short Course Junior National Championships held at the University of Texas Swim Center.

Westlake junior Ashley Maton completed the 2-mile course at Saturday’s blustery Class 5A cross country state meet in 12:34.03 minutes, which placed 82nd in the 103-runner field.
